AI is a discipline, not a demo.
A working demo takes an afternoon. Getting it to hold up in front of real clients, with the evals and the guardrails, is the actual work.
Judgement and taste don't commoditize.
The models write most of the code now. As failure modes become more subtle, taste is what catches them, and judgement is what decides what's worth building at all. That part is still ours.
Agility beats lock-in.
Whatever the best model is today, it won't be next quarter. So I build for the swap, not the marriage.
Security is welded, not bolted.
If the secure way is also the annoying way, people route around it. So it has to be the easy way too.

I started out repairing game consoles. Fifteen years later I direct platform engineering and AI strategy for a global firm. Curiosity compounds.
Right now I'm leading the engineering behind an AI-native intelligence platform for the clients of a large alternative-asset servicer. The interesting part isn't the AI you can point at. It's the AI in the foundations, there from the first line of code.
The titles and the numbers matter less than the through-line, which hasn't changed since the console-repair days: take something complex and make it feel simple.
